H'uli and Trauneth

The morning dawned clear and warm, the scent of flowers in the air the promise of the new season's coming. Trauneth, blue-black hide glimmering in the sunlight, was busy munching on his meal of sliced wherry-meat (at this young age, dragons ate every day - no wonder they grew so quickly) and H'uli couldn't wait for the day to get started. His sister Gillyan had said she was visiting today, and he couldn't wait to see her. It had been, what, six months? Seemed like a lifetime ago.

She wished Tirion would visit, but he knew that was impossible. He didn't even know if she'd Impressed. Last time they'd spoken she was literally off to another world - imagine that! She was such a great girl, no doubt she would have Impressed whatever passed for queen on this 'Alskyr' she'd spoken of. Maybe when Trauneth was grown up they could find a way to visit her?

Visit who? the night-blue asked, catching his rider's thought.

"A good friend of mine," H'uli answered straight away.

Where do they live?

"She lives a far long way away. So far that I don't think we could even between it there," he said a little sadly. "But I miss her."

Trauneth shared his rider's emotion and nuzzled him comfortingly. Could we not try?

H'uli smiled, touched by the little dragon's sentiment. He didn't have a clue where to begin - how did one find a way to another world? - but it couldn't hurt to try. At least then he could be satisfied that he gave it his all. "When you've grown up a little more, maybe we can."
